KI is the recipient of a new patent for the design of its one-piece injection-molded shell that forms the foundation of its Intellect Wave® Chair. The Intellect Wave Chair utilizes a patented high-strength, one-piece injection molded shell with integral cavity reinforcement between the seat and back. This unique combination provides users with back support without an external frame, along with increased materials strength and lifespan. Here's a short video detailing the chair's new utility patent:
“The innovative design and method of manufacturing KI’s widely popular Intellect Wave Chair is unlike anything in the marketplace today,” said Tim Hornberger, New Product Development Manager, KI. “The chair utilizes a completely revolutionary patent-pending process and unique method of injection molding. This enables us to mold the shell of the Intellect Wave chair as a solid seat with continuous back, which functions to distribute stress throughout the chair, increasing strength.” The Intellect Wave Chair is part of KI’s widely popular and successful Intellect Wave classroom furniture, which includes the Intellect Wave Cantilever Chair, Intellect Wave 4-Leg Chair, Intellect Wave Task Chair, Intellect Wave Cantilever Desk, Intellect Wave Combo Desk and more. KI manufactures innovative furniture and movable wall system solutions for education, healthcare, government and corporate markets. The employee-owned company is headquartered in Green Bay, Wis.
