Creativity is in motion at Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord, CA! Their new makerspace tables are the perfect foundation for hands-on learning and collaboration. Students now have dedicated spaces to tinker, build, and bring big ideas to life—turning every project into a chance to innovate.
When Clayton Valley Charter began searching for student workstations to add to several of their classrooms across campus, Alison Sparks, Chief Operations Officer, Facilities & Operations, partnered with Worthington Direct sales rep Sharon Jefferson to find tables that could keep up with busy STEM, CTE, and makerspace environments. Together, they chose the Titan Makerspace Table with Phenolic Top by National Public Seating to anchor these hands-on learning spaces.
To make the tables even more functional, Alison integrated power access at the point of need:
“The tables are so awesome!! I had electrical receptacles installed on one leg of each table… the electrical hookup drops down from the ceiling so each of the tables can be electrified.”
— Alison Sparks, Chief Operations Officer, Facilities & Operations, Clayton Valley Charter High School
With power right at the table, students can plug in laptops, tools, and devices without stretching cords across the room—keeping projects moving and learning spaces safer and more organized.

Why We Think You’ll Like These Tables
We love how these tables check the boxes for busy school environments:
- Built for tough projects
The 3/4" phenolic top stands up to heat, spills, and everyday wear and tear—great for labs, makerspaces, robotics projects, or any class where students really “get their hands dirty.”
- Stable, yet easy to move
A sturdy steel leg frame and under-table support structure keep the work surface solid, even during intensive group projects. When you need to rearrange the room, the heavy-duty locking casters make it easy to roll tables into new configurations or move them into another space.
- Future-friendly for STEM & CTE
From chemistry labs to robotics and tech projects, these tables are versatile enough to support all kinds of learning over time, not just one specific program or class.
With durable, mobile makerspace tables in place—and power built right into each station—Clayton Valley Charter High School has created learning environments where students can brainstorm, build, and iterate with confidence. It’s a simple furniture upgrade that opens the door to bigger ideas and more meaningful hands-on learning.
